Dear Friends,
Something is always happening at the Belair! We are continuously
upgrading, maintaining, replacing, etc.
The living room/dining room furniture have now been replaced on the
first, second and third floors and the furniture for the 4th floor
should arrive sometime in July. Hurricane screening is finished on
the sea side of the building and we have done the first and fourth
floors of the parking lot side. The water tank has been replaced as
well as the air-conditioning plant so hopefully we will not have any
more air conditioning problems.
Gingerbread Cafe is still doing great. Ruphus and his staff really
care about customer service and the food is wonderful.
The Government which was supposed to dredge the harbor last year and
bring more sand here still has not done so but the beach is still
here - bless it. The rock groins seem to be working well keeping the
sand in place.
We have many new projects which we are starting this year. One of
them are new kitchen counters and lighting as well as refurbishing of
the mirrors. We will also be replacing the flooring in the entrance
way, front desk and patio areas. We are having the tennis court
resurfaced and the fencing replaced. Unlike other resorts we
renovate some items in the hotel every year. In this manner we will
hopefully never have assessments, huge jumps in maintenance etc. for
modernizations and replacements.
After hurricane season we will be power washing the outside of the
building. Because of the material it is made of we cannot paint it
as it would chip away within 6 months so that is why power washing is
really the only way to go.
